Lilyth Atelier

Lilyth Atelier is an independent space for art, transition and encounter in Zurich.

The space emerged during the Rauhnights as an open studio — a place for the in-between, for processes without predetermined outcomes, and for allowing things to remain unresolved.

Its starting point was Lilyth, an artistic figure rooted in the myth of Lilith and understood as a figure of transition: associated with autonomy, ambiguity and the crossing of established boundaries.

What began as an artistic exploration by Kishana Herrle has since developed into a space for different artistic positions and practices.

Today, Lilyth Atelier hosts exhibitions, performances, artistic projects, conversations and collaborations. Artists and collectives are invited to inhabit, question and transform the space through their own practices.

The original idea remains at its core:
Lilyth is a space in transition, shaped by what happens within it.

Kishana Herrle

Kishana Herrle is an artist and the founder of Lilyth Atelier. Her practice moves between performance, video, installation, text and collective formats.

Her background in healthcare and her work in elderly care institutions and psychiatric settings inform an artistic practice in which care plays a central role, alongside questions of identity, transformation, responsibility and coexistence.

Her work develops through encounters with people, places and time, with process understood as an integral part of the artistic practice.
